Fun with the Parents!

My Mom and Dad came into town this past weekend.  It had been 5 months since I had seen them, so they were due for a visit.  While they were here, we all went to the salt lake temple.  It was Ryan and mine's first time.  We loved it and were glad we got the chance to do that.  

A really funny situation happened while we were walking out of the temple.   The girl that Ryan was dating at the time that we met, was walking in with her fiance to get married!  We both said hi to her before I even realized who I was saying hi to.  I know what are the chances of that, but man am I glad things worked out the way that they did!

Ryan and I with my brother.  My brother just started dating this girl named Sarah.  I havn't met her yet, but I can't wait to meet her.  Below is  a picture of them.

After the temple, my mom and I went shopping for home decor while the guys went golfing.  It was so much fun, the guys went golfing 3 times throughout the whole weekend and my mom and I got to decorate our bedroom and make some curtains. It all turned out really cute!

Growing up my mom and I would always end up matching each other, especially on sundays.  So, I thought it was funny when my mom and I matched on the very first day.  Like mother like daughter i guess.

I love my mom so much, she has been the best mom to me.

On sunday, my parents came to church with Ryan and I.  We hadn't been to our new ward yet, we've been out of town a lot lately.  It was fun to have them there for our first time in our new ward.  Our bishop is great, and the married couples in the ward all seem like a lot of fun!  After church we all went up to the canyon and played our favorite game, Farkle, and just relaxed.

The funeral was yesterday, and it was beautiful.  I didn't know Grandma Griffith as well as i wish i had known her, but from the couple times that i did get to see her she was the most loving and sweet lady.  All of the talks were great, it made me realize how perfect she really was.  All the grand kids shared some funny stories, and it was really fun to all be together for Grandma.

Ryan and Grandma share the same birthday, January 28th.  So, Ryan told a story that had happened this past january on their birthday.  A tradition in our family on birthday's is to go around the table and tell one thing we really like about that person.  While going around the table everyone couldn't say enough about how wonderful grandma was, and then when they would get to ryan they would stall and say "Ryan is funny".   This just showed how many good qualities that grandma griff had you just can't cover them all!

We are so lucky to have such great brother and sisters- in - laws. We all get along so well, i hope we never live too far away from each other.

Grandma's casket was really pretty, and so were the flowers.  She was buried right next to her husband in the Ogden cemetery.

All of the grandkids and their spouses.  We all really enjoyed being together, and I got to meet a lot of the family that I had never met before.  Afterward we all went to Karen and Ron's house for dinner and fun, luckily Ryan and I got off work last minute so we could spend more time with the family.

Our little vacation to St. George!

Back in January, for Ryan's birthday, I got him tickets to go see Brian Regan.  Since the show in Logan was sold out for January, I got tickets for the show in St. George (southern Utah) this past weekend!  We had so much fun together, and enjoyed our break from school and work.

This is a picture of the Amphitheater that the show was at, It was off in the middle of this canyon. 

  He is a very funny comedian, and he is also really clean.  It was mostly us and a bunch of older people there.

When it got dark out, I would have been a little scared in that canyon all alone.

We also stopped by the St. George Temple.  I love that temple, It's really pretty. I hope some day when we go back down there we actually go through it.

There were tons of beautiful roses all around the temple.We got to enjoy restaurants that we don't eat at very often, such as, In & Out burger, Texas Roadhouse, and Fazoli's... YUM!  We also went and played some arcade games and putt putt golf. By the way, I beat Ryan 54 to 56! It was a really close game the whole time, but i was pretty excited to win.So happy to have such an amazing husband!We spent a lot of time laying out at the pool, Ryan did good with laying out this time.  But, he still had to have his fun doing the butterfly to entertain himself and also competed in a diving meet against himself.) As shown in the video below.  Ryan wanted me to do the announcing.

Ryan did the "bird man" hair-do.  We of course watched the Nuggets game, which was the most amazing game.  Afterwards Ryan was jumping from bed to bed, seriously.  I wish i had gotten a video of all the action!
Finally on our way back home to Logan, We stopped by Salt Lake to visit our Grandma Griffith.  She had been sick since last week, and had only gotten worse.  We were fortunate to be there with all of the family when she passed away on Sunday, May 10th.  Grandma Griffith was a wonderful and beautiful lady, I've never met someone so sweet and humble.  She will be missed, but we are happy she is back with her husband.

Ben (Chelsie's son)  was also there.  I have to say that he is by far the cutest little kid ever, whenever there is a camera on him he always has a smile on! 

   

The big move!

The move is finally done, and we are out of our dungeon!!!  The move went really well, besides the fact that it decided to snow & rain the one day we decided to move!  Luckily we had both Tyler and Brady  to help us move, so it went pretty fast.

Here are our new couches!!  They are even better than we thought they would be.  They are  so comfortable and in really good condition.   We also got a free washer & dryer set from my brother, which helped us out a lot.  

We figured we needed to have one last celebration in our old place.  So, Brady bought some pizzas to celebrate the move.  Everyone always says that your sad when you leave your first home that you lived in together, but so far I have not missed it AT ALL.  Our new place feels more like home, and we don't have guys above us being rude anymore. 

Here is our new kitchen, with counter and cabinet space, and a bar to put our stools.  Oh yeah and we have a dish washer now, so no more stacked up dishes waiting for us to clean them!  

We have stairs!!

Our big and very spacious bedroom.  I havn't had any time to decorate yet, so it will all look better once i do that.

This is our guest bedroom, mostly just my sewing room right now.   Yes, my mom just bought me a new sewing machine!! I'm very excited about it and I have lots of projects lined up for me.  Including 4 sets of curtains, and a new church skirt (which I've already started, in the picture below).  

We do have a nice Aero bed so if anyone wants to come visit we have a place for you to sleep.

Also, Ryan and I both got jobs at Olive Garden here in Logan.  Ryan is a server and I am a host, it's been a lot of fun so far. The servers make a boat load of money because it's one out of 2 restaurant's in logan, and it's always busy.  Ryan's first table that he served, He spilt 2 alcoholic drinks over the girl.  I guess they had never learned how to deal with the trays when they become imbalanced.   I was really nervous for him when i found out, but in the end they tipped him $15 and then the table next to them gave him $20 because they felt bad for him.  I think he should keep doing that to all of his tables.  

Anyways, Life is good... and we are so happy that everything is working out for us.  We would love visitors so come and visit any time you can! 

A visit from my old friend!

My best friend Allyx from high school and her husband came to visit Ryan and I a little over a week ago!   We had so much fun with them.  Ryan and I went to their wedding reception a year ago yesterday, and ever since then i have been trying to get us all together.  It finally happened! While they were here visiting, we went to a Kalai concert up on campus.  He is definitely one of my favorite artists, he is so talented and very funny!  His concert was more like a comedy & concert all in one.   If you havn't heard any of his songs you should google him and listen to some. His best is "On my Mind".  Thanks Allyx & Dan for coming, I miss you two and I hope that it isn't a year until i get to see you guys again!!!

Change of plans...

So we we're planning on moving into our friends town home, but things weren't really working out the way that we had hoped.  But, Today we got really lucky!  We found these really nice town homes that are cheaper than what we are living in now, and they are very nice!  There was one other couple that had said they wanted it but we beat them to signing the paper work!  It's a 2 bedroom 1 and a 1/2 bath town home.   We're planning on moving in this saturday.  We also just bought some new couches that we're only $200 for the set from pottery barn!  We are super excited and couldn't be any happier!

It's movin' time!!!

It's finally time for us to move out of our first apartment.  I do think I'm going to miss our little dungeon, but at the same time i can't wait to have a home warmer than 50 degrees, cabinets that arn't behind our couch and boys jumping on the ceiling. 

We have been on a waiting list at this really nice apartment complex for about 4 months now, and guess what once again they didn't have an opening for us, we just found out.  We had already subleased our apartment so we were kind of stuck, but then our friends helped us out a lot!!  Our friends Connor and Kylee just bought a brand new town home here in Logan and wont be using it for the summer, so they are letting us live there and pay super cheap rent!  Thank goodness for good friends!  So we will be moving at the end of this month. Woo Hoo!!!
