lake powell continued...

Ryan and I got a lot better at wakeboarding, thanks to Aaron. I no longer stay far out on the left side of the wake, but can go in and out of the wake! Huge improvement from last time. Ryan got really good too and started to jump the wake!

I went on my very first fishing trip! Aaron's dad is a big time fisher, so he taught us how it was done. Ryan caught a fish within the first 10 minutes, but when he was reeling it in it got away. But Kayti got a big striper! We ended up eating all the fish that they had caught through out the whole trip, and it was really good.

Way to go kayti!!!

I Love, Lake Powell...

Our good friends Aaron and Kayti invited us to go to Lake Powell with their family last week, and there was no way we would pass that oppurtunity up! So, Ryan and I got our shifts covered and headed down to the powell. We had the time of our lives, and are so grateful that we have such amazing friends like Aaron and Kayti!
The houseboat at our first location at lake powell. The houseboat was a lot of fun! The first night Ryan and I, and Aaron and Kayti spent the night on the top of the boat. Sounds neat, but the boat was invested with a million BIG spiders so that only lasted one night and then we were in the boat sleeping. I ended up with a couple spider bits on my head, that we noticed when we got home.We enojyed lots of rides on the jet skis, discovering different coves and seeing all the incredible views.
One afternoon, when we got back from riding the jet skis, It started to pour rain and hail. Since rocks surround the lake, a ton a waterfalls started up. It was really cool to watch.
Aarons brother Dave had the cutest kid. I couldn't get enough of Easton and was sad when they left. I think i ended up with about 20 pictures of just him, so I just picked out a few. Easton loved my pink blanket, and would crawl over and lay his head on it every time he saw it.
One morning a couple of us decided to go hiking. Little did I know it was going to be an intense hike, more like rock climbing.
Luckily we all survived with just a couple scrapes. It was a lot of fun though, and the views from the top were definietly worth the hike! The view from the top of the rock looking down at our houseboat.

The best job comes to an end...

Ryan and I both got the chance to work at a middle school near our house this past year.   We helped tutor kids there and also helped out the teachers.  This past thursday was their last day of school.  Surprisingly we were both pretty sad to not see those kids till next year, hopefully.

We both showed up at the year book signing the last hour of school, it was a lot of fun!
These are some of our favorite kids that we helped, Connor and Denis.   Ryan and I would always love to come home and tell all the funny stories that happened that day at the middle school.
Of course all of the girls we're in love with Ryan!  I worked the day of the year book signing and one of the teachers told me that her 2nd hour class was really upset that Ryan wasn't working that day.  They said that was the only reason they wanted to come the last day of school.  So, when i got home I talked Ryan into going back to the school so he could sign all their yearbooks.   I think it made their day.  Should I be jealous? :)
Here are some of the girls that are in love with him.

chocolate cake in 5 minutes!

I got an email the other day about this chocolate cake that only takes you 5 minutes to make.  (baking it and all)  So, I decided to try it before i shared it with everyone to make sure it actually works, and it did!

4 T. Flour
4 T. Sugar
2 T. cocoa
1 Egg
3 T. Milk
3 T. Oil
3 T. Chocolate chips
 1 large coffee mug
A dash of vanilla (if including the chocolate chips)
 * This recipe will be enough for one coffee mug, but then you can split it in half and it will be enough for 2 people.
First add all dry ingredients and then mix.  Add the egg, and mix. Add milk and oil, mix.  Add chocolate chips & vanilla, mix. Then put it in your coffee mug.
Then your going to put it in the microwave for 3 minutes.  Don't worry when it looks like it is going to go over the edge of the mug, it wont!
Then all you have to do it shake it out of the mug and cut it in half for two people, unless your a pig like we are.  We each had a mug to ourselves.  We tried it with and without chocolate chips and the chocolate chips make it so much better!  Try this little treat out and let me know if you liked it, we sure did!!!
